Contest Details You Need to Know

In a time when division is loud and outrage travels quickly, kindness is a deliberate choice. This theme invites poets to show how compassion is practiced on purpose through restraint, repair, courage, and even rebellion.

Ideas you can explore:

  • Choosing grace in moments of conflict
  • Kindness as courage, restraint, or repair
  • Quiet acts that ripple outward
  • Self-kindness as survival or transformation
  • Finding humanity where it’s least expected
  • Compassion as resistance

Who Can Enter

This contest is open to writers 21+ who have had at least one poem published (online or print), or have a notice of publication, before April 6, 2026.

Important: If you’re selected as a finalist, you must be able to attend and read at the April 26, 2026, event at Dank Poet Dispensary.

Judges

Your work will be reviewed by a panel of published poets and educators, along with cannabis industry professionals who have literary experience.
